About

Neue Terra is an independent fragrance studio founded in San Francisco by a sommelier-in-training and a multidisciplinary designer, united by a shared sensitivity to scent, place, and the American landscape.

Over five years, the brand was shaped through sustained study and refinement. Each decision is considered. Each element is resolved with intention. Every detail is developed in-house, from logotype to bottle to cap, forming a system that is cohesive, restrained, and enduring.

We collaborate with world-class perfumers and work with exceptional raw materials—not to recreate a place, but to distill its atmosphere, leaving a trace that lingers in memory.

San Francisco

Approach

Every fragrance begins with a place we know intimately. We return to its terrain, climate, and flora not as reference, but as foundation. The aim is not interpretation, but composition—something that carries the feeling of the landscape itself.

Our fragrances are genderless. We compose with atmosphere, structure, and emotion, rather than category.

Materials are selected for their ability to express texture, light, and depth. Many of the naturals we use represent the highest standard of perfumery, chosen for their clarity, nuance, and character.

Each formula is developed with patience and precision. Nothing is rushed. Nothing is incidental.

Perfumer

The first Neue Terra fragrances were composed by Ashley Santiago.

A San Francisco native, her work is grounded in a lifelong connection to Northern California landscapes. She trained in chemistry before continuing at ISIPCA in Paris, and was later selected for the Givaudan Perfumery School, where only a small number of perfumers are trained each decade.

Her approach is disciplined and intuitive, working closely with raw materials to build compositions that feel inevitable.

San Francisco

San Francisco is central to Neue Terra.

It is where the brand was formed, and where many of its earliest references began: coastal fog, dry heat, dense woods. The city's proximity to varied terrain continues to shape how we think about scent: something lived, not imagined.

All fragrances are made in California.

Responsibility

We maintain a measured approach to production.

Each fragrance is produced in limited quantities, allowing for control, consistency, and a closer relationship to the materials.

We contribute 1% of annual sales to the National Park Foundation in support of preserving natural landscapes.
